I have been using AKT London Deodorant for nearly a year now and all I can say is one word: OBSESSED. This non-toxic, aluminum free deodorant brand actually WORKS for stinky pits. It doesn’t make you sweat more, it actually makes me smell fresh ALL DAY. Sustainable plastic free packaging. It’s just seriously a winner. Let’s dive into a review of my favorite non-toxic deodorant – AKT London Deodorant.

What is AKT London?

AKT London is a premium natural deodorant that is “Born to Perform, and tested on dancers, not animals.” I love the founders story – dancers that were sick and tired of stinking up the stage, so they set out to create their own amazing deodorants that not only performed well, but are also super sustainable packaging wise! I’m so thrilled to be finally sharing my AKT London deodorant review with you all and show off this gorgeous brand!

What ingredients are in AKT London Deodorant?

This is the ingredient list for the current one I am using, SC 02 After Thunder:

What is their Fragrance made from?

  • Although they state “Parfum (fragrance)**” on their ingredient label, as well as Limonene*, Linalool*, Citral*, Geraniol*, they note that they are:
    • *Naturally occurring in essential oils
    • **Natural essential oils, molecules and flower extracts
  • Also, being that this is a London based company, European Union standards for cosmetics are much stricter, so I am comfortable with these fragrance sources in this product. If you want to avoid fragrance entirely, you can definitely test out their unscented version! I just love their scents too much and am too stinky to even test it out lol. 
AKT London Deodorant Review – After Thunder

So, how do the AKT London deodorants smell?

Yes, I have tried every single scent! Let’s break it down by my favorites below!

  • I started off with SC 05 Columbia Road – it’s fiercely floral with a powdery finish – I instantly fell in love. Perfect feminine floral energy
  • Second, drawn to anything summer and beachy themed, I had to try Halcyon Summers. This one however, was too much of a mint undertone for me, but if you love a slight minty-ness, you will love this one! My friend ended up taking my tube of this one she liked it much better than the others!
  • Third, I tried the trial size kit with all of the scents – and I became enamored with SC 02 After Thunder. I instantly bought the full size. It was my instant favorite, and has since been my go to, even replacing my beloved 05 Columbia road the past couple months. Its got this earthy but sweet vibe I cannot even explain – I just love it. 
  • Runners up: 03 The Onsen – this one has Lavandin in it so it also has some floral notes, hint of lavender. I thought I wouldn’t love this one but it’s a subtle earthy but sweet vibe as well – and I really also enjoy wearing this one. I think this is going to be my next full size purhcase!
  • The one that did not make the cut for me: 01 Orange Grove – I don’t think I like Neroli so this one is just a no go for me, way too earthy for me.

How is the application?

This is a balm product so you have to squeeze a small amount out of the tube and apply with your finger(s). The turn key tool “The Assistant” I highly recommend, she comes with the starter kit, and it makes utilizing every last bit of product out of the tube possible. She is also BEAUTIFUL! If you don’t have a turn key with an aluminum tube product, it’s much harder to get the  product out evenly/consistently and you end up in my experience with more wasted product at the end. 

They also have a tool called “The Applicator” which is a stunning gorgeous Gua Sha inspired piece that doubles as a massage tool. I do not have this beauty but it is something I think I might get and experiment with. It’s also just gorgeous!

Let’s talk AKT London packaging

Can I just jump with excitement here? Their packaging is ENTIRELY PLASTIC FREE! They use aluminum tubing which is endlessly recyclable, and instead of opting for the usual plastic caps that definitely don’t usually get recycled, they created a bespoke aluminum cap. The cap doesn’t poke a hole in the tube to open it, but you can use a pen or something instead to poke the hole. Worth it to not have the plastic cap! 

The labeling is also so chic I love the colors, the simplistic modern design and naming system, and also can you even with how gorgeous The Assistant (turn key) is??

Alright, so how long does a tube last?

  • Per the website, one tube lasts 6-8 weeks. 
  • For me, these tubes are lasting me months!
  • I had to turn off the subscription because I just simply didn’t need it soon enough! I only use just more than a pea size amount for each underarm, so it just lasts a long time! I also ordered a second scent and the trial size kit so I have been alternating so I am getting even more longevity out of my tubes.

Final thoughts

In writing this AKT Longon Deodorant Review, I find myself ordering my next tube at the same time. I can’t recommend this deodorant enough. There is a scent for everyone truly. It works. It lasts. It’s plastic free packaging. It comes without scent, or with gorgeous scents, using ingredients that to me are trustworthy. If you’re looking for just organic essential oils, it might not be for you, but to me these are an absolute staple in my vanity and I don’t travel without them.
